Building a Stable, Diverse Solar Workforce

Oregon’s expanding solar industry depends on a diverse, stable, and highly skilled workforce.

We collaborate with industry leaders, innovative companies, experienced solar professionals looking to expand their skills, and new workers seeking opportunities in the solar industry. Together, we’re helping to build a growing and thriving solar workforce.

Hands-on Basics of Solar Installation Training

Together with Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association (OSEIA), Solar Energy International, Energy Trust of Oregon, Oregon Tradeswomen, and Remote Energy, the training was developed to offer an introduction to Oregon's solar installer jobs which include material handler and two apprenticeship options - Limited Renewable Energy Technician and Electrician licenses.

We’ve expanded this program and have offered the training several times. Want to host or partner for your own hands-on Basics of Solar Installation Training? Contact us!

Summer Fun with the Future of Solar!

The Solar Education Fund partners with youth camps in Oregon to teach kids about solar.

GirlsBuild - OSEEF has partnered with Power PNW to bring solar to the GirlsBuild summer camps. Girls ages 8-15 participate in a one-week summer camp where they learn to use power tools and all about different trades, including solar installation. In 2024 campers will be building a solar power sun mister!

Constructing Hope - OSEEF has partnered with the Blueprint Foundation to bring solar to the Constructing Hope youth program. Teenagers 16-19yrs old have the opportunity to learn about the construction industry, including green jobs where construction meets environmental protection. In 2024 participants will be visiting solar projects and building a solar notebook!

Want to volunteer with the youth programs or take them on a site visit? Contact us!
